Palin is an Insult to Women

For McCain to haphazardly choose a woman, at the last minute, for Vice President, is a direct insult to women.  Why would you choose a hockey Mom, in politics alittle over two years, to be your running mate.  Especially when you are at-risk for dying before your term is over?   Does McCain seriously think of all the people he could have chosen, that Palin is the right person to take his place?!   What the HELL?!   If he just wanted to stir the female voters, he certainly did.  And, this wasn’t the way to do it.

Support Obama Biden for ‘08!   As a woman, the GOP has totally insulted my intelligence!

I’m Famous as a Freelance Writer

Well, I’ve officially become a famous freelance writer.   Well, maybe not famous but my name is now recorded in the history books so I’ve made my mark, so to speak.   I received a really neat early birthday gift that has truly given me a mark in this world that will last even after I die.   :)   What a great way to be remembered!  Even if I never write another piece of web content, at least I know my name is now recorded in history.   This idea is so cool that I may even consider using it for some co-workers as Christmas gifts!

Has your name been recorded in history somewhere?  If so, share your experience!

Star Tex Power Still Sucks - Power to the Blog!

Wow!  I’ve had some really bad experiences with StarTex Power recently and posted about those experiences here on my blog.  While my blog is not intended, in any way, to provide information on Texas utilities, I do provide information on my personal experiences from time to time.  For the most part, I leave those personal experiences out of the blog and try to just provide personal opinions about professional experiences.

However, in the case of StarTex Power, I must say that I find it necessary continue to vent my frustration.   I am a strong believer in the power of the word-of-the-mouth.   So, with that said, I simply want to say that StarTex Power continues to suck!   Their billing is awful, their online payment system sucks, and they seem to have a bunch of bottom of the line Houston-ites working for them.   Quite honestly, it doesn’t surprise me that they suck so bad.   That area of the state isn’t known for carrying the creme de la creme in terms of personnel.

So, in my opinion, StarTexas Power sucks!  If you want bad service and poor billing practices, then be sure to give them a call!   If you can get through on their phone lines.    Oh, and they have no affiliate program which means they suck really bad and can’t even recruit new customers through affiliation so don’t even try that.    They are good at taking money and screwing electric customers over.    Power to the blog!

Freelance Writers Often Uninsured

Working in the freelance writing and affiliate marketing business for many years, I heard many stories about the lack of insurance benefits made available to individuals working at home.  In my own personal experience, health insurance was unaffordable and I even experienced the financial nightmare of requiring very expensive medical treatment without any financial resource.    Today, I was looking for new coverage for my son, who is a college student, and found there are health insurance, dental insurance and even vision insurance programs that are, indeed, affordable for most individuals who are self-employed and involved with freelance work.

Do you have a great success story in your hunt for health insurance?  Please share it with us!

Planners are Key to my Affiliate Marketing

I am quite successful at internet marketing and affiliate marketing.  Much of my success lies in the ability to organize my day and to organize my contacts.  I bought this really cool daily planner that includes an appointment book but also a calendar.  The calendar is especially useful as an affiliate marketing tool as it allows me to plan each section of my day and allocate certain marketing focuses during that time period.   I would have to say my productivity has increased 300% by using my day planner.   What tools do you use for productivity planning?   Every affiliate marketer must have some type of day planner to stay on track and become financially successful.

Freelance Writers & Attorney Services

Many freelance writers require legal services when it comes to some forms of authorship.   If you are a freelance writer, it is important to always have the number of an attorney close by.   Even if you think you will never need an attorney, or any type of lawyer services, always be prepared for the unexpected.    I have great resources for attorneys and lawyers and, fortunately, I’ve never had to deal with any legal issues in terms of my freelance writing.  But, if I ever need something, I know who I will call.

Do you have a story about your legal resource or reference while doing affiliate marketing or freelance writing?
