I received a letter from Star Tex Power this last week kindly asking that I pay them a $500.00 deposit.  What a nice time to ask for this amount of money.  They claim it is a deposit that they are  now requiring due to my late payments of the electric bill.  hm…?  But, in the same letter, they cite the poor economic situation out country is in and state they need the deposit in order to keep electric costs as a low.   That seems like a double standard to me.   Anyway, I’m not surprised…several years ago TXU, another Texas electric provider, tried to screw me for an $800 deposit.  Funny how this always happens right in the dead of heat in Texas.

Texas electric companies suck!   Have you ever experienced a problem with an electric company?  Do share your experience.  I’d love to hear it!

I just received a bill from WTU for $2700.00 I have been on there monthly average plan for over 10 years, and never had this happen. Every August they would adjust my bill up or down according the last year usage. When I called them they told me that it was there mistake and I didn’t owe the amount. A week later they called me back and informed me that I did owe them. I have filed a complaint with the PUC, and currently waiting for resolution, if there will be one.
