Wow! I’ve had some really bad experiences with StarTex Power recently and posted about those experiences here on my blog. While my blog is not intended, in any way, to provide information on Texas utilities, I do provide information on my personal experiences from time to time. For the most part, I leave those personal experiences out of the blog and try to just provide personal opinions about professional experiences.
However, in the case of StarTex Power, I must say that I find it necessary continue to vent my frustration. I am a strong believer in the power of the word-of-the-mouth. So, with that said, I simply want to say that StarTex Power continues to suck! Their billing is awful, their online payment system sucks, and they seem to have a bunch of bottom of the line Houston-ites working for them. Quite honestly, it doesn’t surprise me that they suck so bad. That area of the state isn’t known for carrying the creme de la creme in terms of personnel.
So, in my opinion, StarTexas Power sucks! If you want bad service and poor billing practices, then be sure to give them a call! If you can get through on their phone lines. Oh, and they have no affiliate program which means they suck really bad and can’t even recruit new customers through affiliation so don’t even try that. They are good at taking money and screwing electric customers over. Power to the blog!

Sir (or Madam),
I really enjoy your blogs, and read them almost every week. This is an observation, not a complaint. I am 71 and have the eyesight of a 71 year old. Your gray on black is extremely hard to read. Others might have the same problem.
Thanks for listening to me!!
There are several small providers that have not been able to handle the amount of customers that sign up with them. I have read that not only Startex Power but Amigo Energy call centers are impossible to get through. This might have something to do with all those electric companies going out of business this summer. They probably have had a ton of customers sign up with them. They should really hire more people to handle these calls.
